Meet Our Speaker!
Dr. Helena Wisniewski is Chair of the Management, Marketing, Logistics, and Business Analytics Department, and Professor of Entrepreneurship in the College of Business and Public Policy (CBPP) at UAA. She is a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI), a technological entrepreneur, and has extensive executive and leadership experience in the industry (Lockheed, Titan, ANSER), government (DARPA, CIA), academia, and service on public and private boards of directors. She identified and pioneered advances in AI at DARPA, in industry, and at UAA created the first AI course in CBPP, the AI webinar series, and established the Alaska Data Science and AI Lab (ADSAIL) to solve challenges and facilitate experiential learning. She is also the founding Director of the Arctic Domain Awareness Center which she created to provide crisis response capabilities. She is the editor of the new NAI International Journal - AI Education, co-author of the book Academic Entrepreneurship, and has a contract with World Scientific to write her book – The Global Supply Chain and Emerging Technology. She is an invited distinguished speaker at numerous international conferences, received awards for noteworthy contributions to technology advances, excellence in teaching, and the Rotary Vocational Service Award from AIRC. Recently, she was featured in IEEE Women in Engineering’s 25th anniversary Issue as a Prolific Innovator.
